برای راه اندازی خط تولید زغال فشرده و تولید زغال از انواع مواد اولیه استفاده می شود. مهم ترین مواد اولیه مورد استفاده در تولید این محصول، خاک اره، پوست گردو، تفاله چغندر و مواد دیگری چون سبوس برنج و شاخه راش است. مواد اولیه هر چه باشد، ابتدا با دستگاه اکسترودر به خوبی خرد شده و آسیاب می شود و سپس بریکت ها در قالب های مشخصی تولید می شوند.
