Aid workers are being overwhelmed by thousands of Bosnian Muslims who have fled to the safe haven of Tuzla after being forced out of Srebrenica.
The refugees say Bosnian Serb soldiers dragged off young women, tore men and boys from their families and shot civilians as they captured Srebrenica.
Thousands of refugees have gathered in the United Nations so called safe haven of Tuzla after being removed from Srebrenica by Bosnian Serbs who seized the town on Tuesday.
U-N aid workers have been toiling through the night to try to accommodate the displaced people.
About two-thousand people were accommodated at the U-N controlled air base, while around eight-thousand spent last (Thursday) night along the road outside.
The exhausted and hungry refugees pushed and shoved to catch bread thrown by the U-N troops.
Despite their best efforts to set up tents and distribute meals and blankets, the U-N admits their response is inadequate.
The refugees struggle to come to terms with what has happened to them - being forced out of their town which the U-N was supposed to be protecting.
One woman in her early twenties hanged herself with a blanket last (Thursday) night.
A sobbing woman, who was separated from her husband and elder son, told APTV that Bosnian Serb soldiers seized her 14 year-old son who she has not seen since. She suspects he has been killed.
Hers is just one of many unconfirmed claims of human rights abuses by Bosnian Serbs.
The U-N relief agency - the U-N-H-C-R - is sending extra supplies from Croatia to help cope with the growing refugee crisis.
For these bewildered and scared refugees, they can't arrive too soon.
