Join Professor Zach Murphy for the next discussion we will be having on the development of the Embryo! We continue this Embryology series by explaining how Gastrulation occurs. During this lecture, we pick up where we left off and continue into the second week of gestation. Zach gives a brief overview on the concept of implantation of the embryo, and continues with the bilaminar disc and how it will eventually form the trilaminar disc consisting of the ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm! We also discuss the formation of the notochord and what it is specifically responsible for. It is truly unbelievable how we can form and develop into so much from one tiny cell, so let's learn everything we can on the fascinating process of embryogenesis.
