This ESL classroom game is to practice possessive pronouns and possessive forms.
HOW TO PLAY: This game can be played many different ways but is best played as a WHOLE CLASS activity. Divide the class into TWO TEAMS. Then the teams will take turns in answering the questions (there are 10 questions). Each question asks 'Is this your ....?', and the team must choose either O (Yes, it is.) or X (No, it isn't.). To indicate their answer students can make an O or an X shape with their hands. PAUSE THE VIDEO WHEN YOU SEE THE PAUSE SIGN TO GIVE STUDENTS TIME TO ANSWER. Once the team has chosen their answer, press play and the points will be shown. Write down the points on the board, and then it is the next team's turn. After all 10 questions, add up the points and the team with the most points is the winner.
ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO PLAY: Rather than play in two teams, this game can be played individually. Give each student a piece of paper, and for each question students can write down 'Yes, it is. / No, it isn't.' and add up their points at the end.
