In public domain (including here on Youtube), most videos claiming sonic boom are in fact not, and most people have been long mistaken about sonic boom . That is what motivates me to compile this video.

This short clip is the result of me investigating more than 300 videos and it serves more educational than entertaining purpose. This clip aims to provide a study material with visual and sound reference for general pubic to realize what “sonic boom” is really about and to correct the deeply rooted misunderstanding of sonic boom. After careful screening, selection is made and arranged in the order of “genuine sonic boom” (from start until 01:05), “vapor cone” without sonic boom (from 01:06 until 02:01), and “ordinary high-speed low pass” (i.e. neither sonic boom nor vapor cone, from 02:01 until the end).) This way, it provides a rare, logic and easy-to-follow study material for everyone to easily differentiate between scenarios of sonic boom and non-sonic boom.
